DAL TADKA

Ingredients:
To pressure cook:
Moong dal 1/2 cup
Masoor dal 2 tbsp
Toor dal 1 tbsp
Bengal gram dhal 1 tbsp
Bay leaf  1 no.
Clove  1 no.
Cinnamon 1 no.
To saute
Oil - 1 tbsp
Jeera -1 tsp
Ginger - one inch (finely chopped)
Garlic - 4nos (finely chopped)
Green chillies - 2 (finely chopped)
Onion - 2 nos.(finely chopped)
Tomato - 2 small sized (finely chopped)
Turmeric powder -1 tsp
Kashmiri red chilli powder - 1 tsp
Garam masala powder -1 to 1 1/2 tsp
Salt - As required 
 For tadka 
Ghee 1-2 tbsp
Finely chopped ginger garlic and green chillies (Reserve a few while you chop for sauteing)
Kashmiri red chilli powder 1/2 tsp
Kasuri methi - a few
Method:
1.Soak and pressure cook the dal items.
2.Mash it and keep aside.
3.In a kadai add oil, jeera, ginger garlic and green chillies.
4.Add finely chopped onion and saute till golden brown
5.Now add salt and turmeric powder.
6.Add finely chopped tomatoes and saute well till mushy
6.Add all masala powders. Give a mix.
7.Add half cup of water. Close it with lid and allow to boil for 5 minutes in low flame.
8. In to this, add cooked dhal and add water to adjust the consistency. Allow to boil well then keep in low flame. 
9. Check for salt and add if necessary.
10.In a small pan add ghee and add items under 'For tadka'.
11. Pour  this over  the dal. Don't skip this step as it gives the charesctistic flavor to DAL TADKA!!!
12. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve with soft chapathis.
👉This dish goes well with parotas and puris as well. 
👉We can also enjoy this with hot rice or with curd rice.
