Aval (poha) Upma

  


Aval upma is my personal favourite dish🥰 I always make this when I am alone at home when we hate to enter kitchen to cook only for ourselves. 😔 It can be put under weight loss recipes too. When we prefer to skip a high calorie breakfast, 😤 this can be a filling substitute.

                  No side dish is needed for this...as I always prefer to do this only for me, I never plan any such. 🤗

Ingredients

Aval (poha) 400gms

Small onions.  10-15nos.

To temper

Oil one tablespoon

Red chillies. 3 nos.

Mustard, urad dhal. One tsp

Curry leaves   a spring

Salt.   to taste

 

Directions

Soak aval(poha) in water for five minutes and drain it.

Meanwhile cut the small onions and keep aside.

Heat a pan, add oil and temper with mustard, urad dhal, red chillies and curry leaves.

Add small onions and sauté well for a minute.

Add required amount of salt and add the drained poha to it. 

Give a quick stir, cover it with a lid and cook for a minute or two.

Transfer it to a serving bowl and taste the yummy poha upma.
